UV germicidal irradiation for air handling units — kills airborne viruses, bacteria, and mold
UVGI (UV Germicidal Irradiation) for AHU/HVAC is an in-duct UV-C installation that irradiates the airstream as it circulates through your ventilation system. Two configurations are available: coil irradiation (lamps near the cooling coil, preventing biofilm that degrades heat transfer and circulates mold spores) and airstream disinfection (lamps in the main duct, inactivating pathogens in moving air). Alpha UV System UVGI systems are designed from measured duct dimensions and airflow data — UV dose delivery at typical duct face velocities of 2–3 m/s requires precise lamp placement geometry that our IIT Patna engineers calculate from first principles.

Every Alpha UV System reactor geometry is validated through CFD simulation using ANSYS Fluent. The analysis below shows velocity streamlines and UV dose distribution across the reactor cross-section, confirming that minimum dose targets are met across the entire chamber volume — not just at the chamber centreline.

Every UVGI AHU ships with genuine Philips UV-C lamps. Not unbranded Chinese alternatives. Philips lamps are rated 9,000–12,000 hours — more than double the life of typical Chinese OEM lamps. A serial number certificate of authenticity is included with every lamp.
